\u201cRomania is the logical choice for this unique conference; a country in the centre of Europe, eager to develop, utilising the resources available through membership of the European Union, and keen to adopt international best practice.\u00a0 In the lead up to this special event, there have been many challenges internally and externally, with a wealth of experience now able to be shared.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Senior Government officials have been invited to participate, including the Minister for European Funds, who has taken the lead on behalf of the Government on funding issues for infrastructure, and also the negotiations with FIDIC on the use of FIDIC contracts for EU-Funded projects.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Speakers will include FIDIC contracts experts, EU procurement specialists, and senior Romanian officials and industry experts.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

This special event is being co-organised by the three organisation representing the consulting engineering industry: FIDIC, the global voice of the industry; EFCA representing consulting engineering business interests of EU member states; and ARIC, the FIDIC and EFCA member within Romania. These groups, plus representatives from the European contracting sector, have been working with local organisations in discussing the impact of the new EU Procurement Directives, and improvements to the use of FIDIC contracts.\u00a0 Romania is now being seen as a European model for the adoption of good practices, which will lead to higher quality decision making in selecting and implementing good infrastructure projects, to support economic development.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
